Project Information

Hall Conservation were asked to replace windows on the well known Stockwell War Memorial Clock Tower in London.

This war memorial, in Portland stone, commemorates 574 of the men that lost their lives in World War I. The monument is the design of local architect, Frank T Dear, who won a competition to have his design adopted. The memorial was unveiled on 3rd May 1922 by Princess Alice.

We were asked to design and build new windows to replace damaged ones on the tower. The installation of the new windows was done with care and sensitivity to the existing look and feel of this old and much loved building. The work was carried out during the summer of 2013.

There is an excellent website devoted just to the Stockwell War Memorial Clock Tower here: www.StockwellWarMemorial.org
