Hall Conservation Ltd is established as a leader in the field of independent conservation practices and has a track record of successfully completing a wide range of conservation projects. From our pool of specialists we can bring together a conservation team suited to the requirements of any specific project; incorporating all fine arts, decorative arts, architectural and industrial conservation work. With our London based studios and onsite workshops we can complete projects on any scale, anywhere within Europe or beyond.

Hall Conservation Ltd has developed a formal Integrated Management System to ensure that work continues to be carried out to the highest ethical standards of the profession, we are conscious of our environmental responsibilities and value the historical, cultural and social implications associated with the objects in our care.

We are able to work successfully with established institutions to provide specialist training, to accept interns and to offer work experience to conservation students.

Philosophy

books-icon-128Our conservation philosophy is guided by the principle of minimum intervention and our aim is always to demystify the conservation process, presenting the client with a rational and sensitive approach to the constraints and intricacies of each individual project. The combined experience and knowledge accrued by the Directors, staff and associates of Hall Conservation Ltd allows us to take full account of all relevant technical aspects, aesthetic considerations, cultural connotations and budgetary implications attached to any individual project.

    Fine art conservation, restoration or repair to a very wide range of materials, including; all metals, stone, plaster, timber, painted surfaces, plastics and many more.

    • Scaffolding requirements for conservation work on historic structures.

  • Surveys and condition assessments

    Hall Conservation Ltd carry out conservation surveys, condition reports, conservation specifications, technical research and historical research on a wide range of sculptures, decorative arts, monuments, buildings, industrial artefacts and collections. Surveys and research carried out by the conservators of Hall Conservation Ltd are comprehensive and the resulting findings are objective and to the highest professional standards expected from accredited conservator restorers (PACR).
  • Advice and consultancy

    In addition to providing advice on the conservation of historic artefacts, Hall Conservation Ltd also works with contemporary sculptors, artists and designers, advising on potential conservation issues and appropriate materials. We are able to act as project managers and as construction technicians. We work closely with the artist or designer and have established a reputation for a sensitive translation of their ideas into full scale actuality.

  • On site

    Many Hall Conservation Ltd projects involve some level of work on site, this ranges from uplifting and installing objects, carrying out full conservation treatment in situ, to site managing large scale conservation projects involving other specialists and trades.
  • Training

    Hall Conservation Ltd is committed to the dissemination of skills and understanding within the field of conservation. Working closely with museums, universities and professional associations we provide work experience opportunities and internships to deliver training in practical conservation and ethical practice.
